BREAKFAST & BLESSING

What can we say about today? To have all our friends and family surround us with so much love and good wishes is overwhelming. The support and good wishes will follow us all the way to the far reaches of Alaska and through to our return. You are all so unforgettable. We will live the rest of our lives supported by the grace you have showered us with today.

June 7th, PDQ Signs in Commerce installed our traveling logo on "Einstein" the car.

Today, just before noon, friends and family gathered to bless the food,
and pray for the journey.

The buffet was FABULOUS, no calories were spared.
Everything was wonderfully delicious. Our friends are
the best cooks in the world.

There was much conversation and good old fashioned fun sharing stories.

Thank you to the chef. The eggs, sausage, bacon, and french toast were TERRIFIC. All the food was hot and ready to serve as the guest arrived at 11:30 AM.

s
 The kids amused themselves . . .

with lots of fun and games.

Finally, the car and its sign were "unveiled"
and the crowd could look in awe at the wonder of it all.
Yes, this vehicle will make it all the way and back again.
Yes, we are comfortable riding in it.

Msgr. Bob Humitz led us in prayers and a blessing for the journey . . .

"Christ is the way, the truth, and the light."
He will lead us through all the journeys of our lives.

A generous blessing with holy water for the car and its occupants.

Fr. Tom Meagher (our pastor), Chris, Msgr. Bob Humitz, and Keith.

White Lake Township gave us a sign to hang
in the Watson Lake Signpost Forest, where 72,000
town signs are displayed on the trees in
Watson Lake, Yukon.

We finished the afternoon with a question/answer session. Everyone was curious about our journey-to-be, and we had fun sharing our experiences of planning such an extensive and long journey

A heart-felt GOD BLESS YOU to everyone; you  made this day special:

Fr. Bob for the blessing and prayers, and getting our journey started with the grace of God.

Denny & Trudy for all the shopping, cooking, logistics, and help setting up the screen tents, tables & chairs.

Matt & Ruth and Cam & Larry who provided extra tables and chairs.

Jamie who helped with the setup. Piper, Jason, and Andrew for help with the cleanup.

Everyone who provided food, drinks, creamer, butter, ice, plates, napkins, and lots of good company to enjoy.

The day was perfect because each of you were a part of it. Our lives would be incomplete without you.
